Brooks is a co-owner and founder of Mississippi Physical Therapy. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2009 before attending the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2013. After a year at Results Physiotherapy in the Memphis, Tennessee region, he returned to Jackson as a staff physical therapist with Mississippi Sports Medicine. While there, Brooks trained and performed extensive manual therapy in spine conditions such as low back pain, headaches and all orthopedic conditions.
In January of 2017, Brooks received his certification on Trigger Point Dry Needling (CDNT), an advanced approach at treating muscular and neuromuscular injuries. In March of 2020 he was hired as the Director of Rehabilitation at the Madison Healthplex in charge of managing the physical therapy department of the Madison Healthplex. In November of 2020, Brooks became a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) through the Institute of Advanced Musculoskeletal Treatments (IAMT). After a short time in Madison, he and his partner, John Horlock, decided to venture out on their own with the idea of providing excellent spine, pelvic and orthopedic care in the central Mississippi region! Brooks currently resides in Madison, MS and is married to his wife Blair and they have two children, Avery Blake (5) and Sam Parker (4). They are members of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Brooks wants you to know he is looking forward to providing patient centered care with a hands-on approach in order for all patients to live without pain! He is a native of Heidelberg, Mississippi where he was an all-state athlete in two sports. He attended Mississippi State University where he was a 4 year letterman for the Mississippi State University baseball team.
John is a co-owner and founder of MS Physical Therapy. He is a native of Madison, Mississippi where attended St. Joseph Catholic High School. He attended Ole Miss where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in Exercise Science. He next attended the University of MS Medical Center where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2015. During his time at UMMC John trained directly under two COMT (certified orthopedic manual therapist) certified PT’s where he became passionate about treating pain using manual techniques.
This extensive training has been the foundation to the treatment strategies John uses to help his patients heal. After graduation John worked briefly at Manhattan Nursing and Rehabilitation center before joining Mississippi Sports Medicine. While at Mississippi Sports Medicine John became certified in trigger point dry needling which is an advanced approach at treating muscular and neuromuscular injuries. John worked at Mississippi Sports Medicine for just over 6 years specializing in spine care before deciding to venture out on his own with his partner Brooks Lewis. Together, John and Brooks wish to provide excellent spine, pelvic, and orthopedic care to those in need in central MS. John currently resides in Ridgeland MS with his wife Emily. They are members of St. Richard Catholic Church in Jackson. Kyle is a native of Madison, Mississippi. He graduated from Madison-Ridgeland Academy in 2013 and attended East Central Community College where he played baseball and earned his associate degree. Following East Central CC, he attended Mississippi State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance. He later attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2022.
Kyle has served as a co-author and research associate in multiple medical publications. He is a certified EMR, CPR, and Community Health Advocate. He is also currently a member of the APTA and APTA-MS. Kyle resides in Gluckstadt, MS with his wife Shelby and daughter Clara. They are members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Ridgeland, where Kyle serves as a deacon. Kyle wants you to know that he is looking forward to providing excellent patient-centered care with a hands-on approach in order for all patients to live without pain!
Camie was born and raised in Madison, MS where she attended Madison Central High School. Following high school, she attended Mississippi State University where she graduated with a degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2010. She then attended the Hinds Community College Physical Therapy Assistant program where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2013. Camie has 10 years experience as a PTA, with over 7 of those being in the outpatient setting. She currently lives in Madison with her husband, McKay, their son Paxton (1), and their dog Luna. Camie wants you to know that she is looking forward to providing excellent patient-centered care with a hands-on approach in order for all patients to live without pain!
Lauren is a Madison, MS native. She attended Madison-Ridgeland Academy K-12 before moving to Nashville to attend Belmont University. While at Belmont, Lauren pursued and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with minors in Nutrition and Sports Medicine. At Belmont, Lauren was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity where she served as the Chief Recruiting Officer and Chief Operations Officer in her years of membership. In addition, she was involved in YoungLife College and an active member of the Exercise Science Club. Lauren graduated from Belmont in April of 2021 and returned to Madison where she currently resides. Outside of the clinic, Lauren enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking walks with her dogs, and exercising. In the coming years Lauren plans to pursue her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Jennifer is from Waterloo, Iowa but has lived in Mississippi for 11 years and currently resides in Pearl. Jennifer attended the University of Iowa and is bringing 23 years of experience in healthcare administration with coding and billing certifications.
If Jennifer is not at work, she loves gardening, watching Iowa Hawkeyes football, or spending time with her grandbaby.
Amanda is a native of Madison, Ms, but has most recently resided in Fort Worth, TX. She recently moved back to her hometown to be closer to family. Amanda attended Antonelli College where she obtained her Associate’s degree in Applied Science majoring in Massage Therapy. Amanda worked for many years as a Licensed Massage Therapist before attending Mississippi College where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Administration. She enjoys being able to make an impact on anyone she comes in contact with. Her love for her two daughters Nolyn, and Laiklyn is what keeps her striving daily!
When not at work, Amanda enjoys personal shopping for friends and family, keeping up with all the new fashion trends, drinking coffee, and most importantly doing all things girly with her daughters!
Cooper is a native of Philadelphia, MS where he attended Philadelphia High School. He received an athletic scholarship to play soccer at East Central Community College, where he played for 1 year and then went on to attend Mississippi State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. He was then accepted into the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Physical Therapy Program where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2016.
Following graduation from UMMC, Cooper moved to Birmingham, AL where he began practicing as a Physical Therapist. During this time he received his certification in Trigger Point Dry Needling (CDNT) and gained extensive training in advanced manual therapy techniques, which he used to treat patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions including low back pain, neck pain, joint pain, and headaches.
After practicing for two years, Cooper took on the role of Clinical Director at ACT Physical Therapy where he was able to combine his two passions of providing quality care to patients and acting as a mentor to new therapists.
Cooper and his wife, Tara, welcomed their daughter, Adeline, into the world in August 2022. This prompted their decision to move back to Madison, MS where Tara was born and raised. Cooper wants you to know that he is looking forward to providing excellent patient-centered care with a hands-on approach to help all patients live without pain!
Donovan is a native of Starkville, MS, Donovan attended Starkville High School and moved to Madison in 2016 to further his education at Holmes Community College. After receiving his Associate of Arts, Donovan relocated to Hattiesburg, MS to finish his college education at The University of Southern Mississippi and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 2020. With a goal to originally work in finance, he realized that his true passion was to work in health and fitness and help others better themselves the same way fitness had done for him. After managing different fitness facilities and coaching group classes, Donovan joined our team to help serve others and get them where they needed to be to move their bodies pain free. When he is not at the clinic, Donovan provides others with personal training and nutrition coaching, exercises, travels, and enjoys spending time with friends and family.
